Field Trips

Hands-on experiences make active learning come to life. HGCA hosts field trips for our Kindergarten program. Typical activities include:

Marbles Kids Museum
Never underestimate the power of play! Through the Power of Play, students actively develop skills vital to success in the 21st century – critical thinking, communication, connecting and interacting with others.

 

The Cary Creative Center
Learn basic bookmaking skills that can be applied to both simple and complex book structures. Using minimal supplies, students will see how easy it is to create books using everyday items found around your house. Participants will make a book using adhesive and thread bindings and will come away with a better understanding of gluing, folding, and assembly techniques that will lend a polished appearance to any book project. Perfect for gifts or personal use!

 

NC Aquarium

We will plunge into the underwater world of alligators, river otters and sharks. A self guided, fun-filled journey through our freshwater and saltwater galleries, wetlands, and open ocean tank. This amazing 285,000 gallon shark-filled tank will ensure a memorable visit.

INFANTS
Our infant program emphasizes the development of a sense of trust and self importance in your child within a warm and nurturing environment. We talk to infants, rock them, hold them and encourage them to try new things as they grow.

Toddlers are very busy learning about the world around them. Developmentally appropriate activities are introduced that assist with your child's development.

This program will support your child's growth by providing an interactive setting where language skills expand rapidly. Your child will learn to make many simple choices, and will begin to develop and reinforce self-help skills which may include toileting.

This program is designed to foster spiritual, social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth through exposure to new stimuli that increase their development.

PRE-K
This program serves as your child's first structured educational experience. Key attributes of the Program are the development of natural imagination and curiosity for learning. Positive interaction among the children and between adults helps prepare each child for success at school.
